I just got back from a work related week in South Florida and good lord almighty did it remind me why I hate this state. It was 123 degrees. OK, it felt like that. Truthfully it was in the 90s. When I got home, I shaved my head. It isn’t a Bic cut, but it is REALLY close. It feels wonderful. I’m telling you everyone should shave their head at least once in their life. Unless, of course, you have an ugly head.
Just as I like having a beard in winter, I like a shaved head in summer. It just communicates something to people on a subconscious level. I look a lot tougher if nothing else.
So my goals for the year include
Writing in the blog more
Laying down a hardcore rap track over a sample of “Werewolves of London”
Eating less red meat if not giving it up all together.
Getting a tan, but using sunscreen
I figure the year is half over, so its time to start getting my house in order.
Or not.
I loved the new Star Wars and boy did it have political undertones. I have a feeling several senators saw it over the weekend and rethought this effort to end filibusters. Here is the thing; most normal republicans (if there are any left) would recognize that the party will likely not hold the majority forever. So ending the filibuster could really be a disaster for them as well. Take away the filibuster and when the democrats get back in control they’ll got ape$h1t legalizing everything. I picture a world were there is a joint in every mouth and a gay wedding in every church. Did I mention the walk-in abortion clinics? Just be careful what you wish for my conservative friends. When the extreme ideas of any party dominate the political climate, it only leads to trouble.
Rest assured the country that we call home is changing before our eyes and it is up to us in which direction we take it. On one hand, we could become the very world George Orwell warned us about or we can become a hedonistic and hell-bound people like the Romans right before their empire caved in. Personally, if we can not find something in the middle, I’ll take the hedonistic orgy. At least that way we can have some fun on the way out.
And as things fell apart, nobody paid much attention.

Dear Jonathan...how would you know if you had an ugly head until you shaved it?
What if you discovered it then?
That would be horrible.
Oh, and you are so right on with your analysis of the filibuster crap. How scary it is!
Politicians are in general a bunch of self promoting, self interested under achievers who are on the make with a hand far to ready to put out to collect the money. Blind eyes, deaf ears and silent voices when it comes to be truly counted.
As for the Movie its a good one. Beards now there is a thought with a bald head. I am awaiting my first lady of the year with such a hairstyle.
